Inspection
Visually inspect the crankshaft gear for cracks and broken
or chipped teeth.
Visually inspect the gear and the keyway for nicks or
burrs.
Use a fine crocus cloth to remove any nicks and burrs.
Measure the crankshaft gear bore.
